Learn with Fun & Work

It may seem that fun and work cannot be put in the same sentence, but in our classes this is what we believe is the most effective way to learn. Through outdoor activities and creative teaching methods, we make it possible. Here is how:

Outdoor Activities

Ice skating, paintball, bowling, barbecues, cooking classes, hiking – the list is endless, we regularly provide extra time after class to take our students to something that they will love.

For a lot of students, it may be their first time attempting to skate on ice or experience the great mountains in Hong Kong, but with the encouragement of their peers, they easily forget their fears and enjoy the moment. We take great pride in seeing our students grow out of their natural defensive attitudes, and believe it affects their studies in a very positive way.

Summer School

Once a year, during the three months of no school, we invite our students to join our summer school to progress in their English skills whilst also enjoying the brilliant outdoor weather and embarking on overseas trips.

Our previous trips have been to Cairns, Australia and China.

Five Senses

To be fully engaged in any activity, the most effective way is to make use of all FIVE senses. This is what Open Eyes Open Mind intends to show.

Learning happens when children hear what their teachers teach and how their peers respond, when they hear the sounds and smell the scent or odour of their surroundings; when they see new things, old things in new perspectives, or things they have not noticed before; when they sense the mood of the milieu; when they touch and taste the texture of an object or food; and of equal importance, when they have the opportunity to record and reflect on their own learning through journal writing, and also when sharing these experiences through discussions, written assignments and oral presentation.

Video Conference

Students all receive one-to-one conference video calls with our international English speaking teachers to practice their vocational skills. By speaking through a video call, students strengthen their English by not being able to avoid the confrontation thus constantly pushing their limits in conversational skills.
